Our Company

Built by practitioners,
for practitioners.

StakeholderHub was created because BC's consultation community deserved better than spreadsheets and tools built for other countries. We spent eighteen months working alongside the people who run consultation before we wrote a line of product code.

Our Mission

Make meaningful consultation the standard, not the exception.

Consultation in BC is serious work. When it's done well, it builds lasting relationships between project proponents and the communities they work with. When it's documented properly, it protects projects, communities, and the Crown from costly delays and legal challenge. The tools most teams use — spreadsheets, email threads, generic CRMs — weren't built for this.

StakeholderHub was built specifically to support consultation that is genuine, organized, and defensible. Not as a compliance checkbox — as a way of working.

How We Started

The spreadsheet problem that wouldn't go away.

StakeholderHub began with a simple observation: every environmental assessment consultant and Indigenous relations manager we spoke with was using some combination of Excel, SharePoint folders, email threads, and shared drives to manage consultation — often all four at once. Not because they liked it — because nothing better existed for the Canadian context.

American tools like Jambo and Borealis were built for US regulatory frameworks and stored data on foreign servers — a real problem for Indigenous consultation records that OCAP® principles require be governed by Canadian law. Generic CRMs had no concept of Support Status, Duty to Consult phases, or BC's Environmental Assessment Office workflow.

We partnered with teams across BC's energy, mining, infrastructure, and forestry sectors — as well as Indigenous economic development organizations and consultation firms — to understand exactly what a purpose-built Canadian consultation platform needed to do. The result is StakeholderHub.

Development Partners

Built with input from BC's consultation community.

We didn't design StakeholderHub in isolation. Our development partners shaped every feature — from the six-phase Duty to Consult tracker to the Support Status workflow and the immutable audit trail.

Energy & LNG Teams

Upstream and midstream project teams managing EA applications and Indigenous engagement across northern BC.

Environmental Assessment Consultants

EA firms managing consultation on behalf of proponents across BC's resource and infrastructure sectors.

Indigenous Relations Management Groups

Specialists in duty-to-consult and First Nation engagement across multiple concurrent projects.

Mining & Exploration Companies

Junior and senior mining companies navigating mineral tenure, EA, and permit-stage consultation requirements.

Infrastructure Project Offices

Major infrastructure owners managing corridor and site approvals requiring multi-nation consultation.

Indigenous Economic Development Organizations

Indigenous-led organizations who provided guidance on OCAP® alignment, nation profile structure, and community engagement best practices.

What we believe

Four principles that guide every decision.

01

Relationships first

We believe consultation should build genuine relationships, not just paper trails. StakeholderHub is designed to help you maintain the kind of sustained engagement that earns trust — not just meets the legal threshold.

02

Canadian by design

Not adapted for Canada — built for Canada from day one. The Crown Duty to Consult, OCAP®, PIPA BC, and the BC EA process shaped the platform from the ground up.

03

Honest and transparent

We tell you what StakeholderHub does and doesn't do. We're a small, focused team building a specific tool for a specific need. We're not a Swiss Army knife.

04

Respect for sovereignty

We took OCAP® principles seriously before they were in the product name. Data sovereignty isn't a feature — it's the architecture. Your data is hosted in Canada and governed by Canadian law.
